as it says all of a sudden my clutch pedal makes this clicking noise when pressed down and then when you take your foot off it makes a loud clunking noise . any ideas ?. its coming from behind the master cylinder in the cabin

It could be the bearings on the pivot pin on the clutch pedal housing.
One member had a cheap fix on this made a pair from something..:nenau

Or the housing has cracked, may need a weld or the fixing bolt to the car body has pulled through. use a big washer on the inside.

Failing that, your knee cap has dislocated. if so see a doctor...:lol:lol:lol

Hope it helps, either way, cheap fix, and we like those in this club.:thumb2

I have taken the trim off and the bracket is fine it seem to be coming from the spring . because if I hold the spring and move the pedal I can get it to stop

how hard is it to remove the whole pedal set up out . because it would be easier to look at and fix out ?. then I could see if and where these bushes are ?

This diagram doesn't really illustrate the spring but I've noticed that if the pedal is kicked from the side for instance after slipping off the brake or something similar, the spring can pop out of one of the holes that retain it

You'll notice that if this has happened the sping will be leaning 10-15 degrees out of line, it can be popped back in by hand however watch your eyes and fingers just in case

Easy to remove, especially if you're a bit flexible - two nuts on the engine side of the bulkhead (the same ones that hold the clutch master cylinder), inside the car, "R" clip on the clevis pin that the pedal pivots on, push the clevis pin out, this separates the pedal box from the master cylinder. then lift out the complete pedal box (when you come to reassemble it, have someone hold the pedal box in position while you refit the nuts under the bonnet). Seemples!!

where I have put the arrows is that where the spring sit as I don't have any bits that sticks out like on the right arrow. or are they plastic bushes that the spring sit in ?

Nope, mine were just sitting in there metal on metal :nenau

The plastic bush in the pedal does wear and can make it click, another symptom is the pedal don't return all the way to the stop. I had this on mine and fitted a bronze bush that a member called jimE had made.
I haven't had any issues since.

It's certainly something I wouldn't like to do unless I had to, I'd rather climb into the footwell on my back but I am 23 :lol

the way im looking at it is it would be easier to fix out and if I can't fix it out then I would never of fixed it while its in and if I can't sort it out I will have too take it out to replace

The Clutch pedal comes out on it's own, and basically taking the assembly out is pretty easy, and one of the first things I had to do when I got mine.

Easiest way, is to take the bottom apron off the dash board, 4 screws, removal of a bit of door trim, and that is done. Pop the R-clip that is through the pin that attaches the master cylinder to the Pedal. Remove the 3 (might be 4) nuts that hold the pedal in place. That was about it.

If it is the nylon bush on the clevis, that is worn. Its not a hard job to do.As stated slide your seat back remove the under dash trim.Pull the pin out Clevis pin will slide out.Another member found what could be used as a replacement part. From what i gather it needs to cut down to about 8mm.Apparently it will distort if cut with a hacksaw etc.But once on the Clevis pin it will be OK.Here is the link.

I would remove the lower dash panel and lay in there with a torch, you may find it's the bush and as stated already, very easy to fix in situ

so which bushes is it?. because there are 2 sets when you look on this pic numbers 7 and 15 and what size diameter is it ?

I understand he stopped making them because it wasn't really worth his while (understandable, considering the price he was charging and the length of time it must have taken him per item - did get mine though, just haven't needed it yet!))
