If it is the nylon bush on the clevis, that is worn. Its not a hard job to do.As stated slide your seat back remove the under dash trim.Pull the pin out Clevis pin will slide out.Another member found what could be used as a replacement part. From what i gather it needs to cut down to about 8mm.Apparently it will distort if cut with a hacksaw etc.But once on the Clevis pin it will be OK.Here is the link.

do you know what size inner diameter the tubing I need to order is ? I only say this because I need to be driving it everyday . so I don't want to start taking it apart till I got the stuff to repair it

Dave, does the pedal return on it's own when you use it, my one was stopping about an inch from it's stop and I had to lift it with my foot, that's why I changed the bush.
If your pedal is doing this, then it points towards the bush, there was a thread on here about these, I will see what I can find.

no it returns fine it has just started to click when you push it down and then clunk on the return . you can feel the clunk though the bulkhead. but it is coming from the pedal

is the pedal unit bolted down tight.
the bolts where loose on one of mine and it used to clunk as you describe.

its all bolted down tight . so I just phoned Nissan dealer and asked how much for the bushes for the clutch pedal . he replied £21.58 just for a couple of bits of plastic

Before I ordered my bush from JimE, I made one from a pushbike brake part, it worked fine, but I thought I would get the machined part from jims mate

What were the bushes made from anyone got the dimensions see if i can get price cant see them being to expesive if done on the right machine

if I could get the dimensions I could have order some pipe reinforcement tube on ebay for £2 but I can't seem to get anyone to tell me . so I have order them off Nissan . they are only plastic

The ones from Saabits are phosphor bronze, can't give the dimensions (yet), it's in Spain along with my Terrano, however I will be going over at the end of this month, so if anyone is still interested I will post the sizes. Bruce

I gather this is what's left of that bush? . I found it in the the foot well but as far as I can see it came from the centre of the spring ?. I don't know really I can't get in their . I'm a big boy and very little room don't go well together . sorry about the image

That looks like the remains of a bush, mine was made of white plastic too, I used the parts from a pushbike brake, it was a brass tube and I just cut it down in length to fit. I will try and put a picture on here of the part.
When I fitted it, it worked well, but my pedal was not returning all the way up, that's the only symptom I had with my pedal.
I'm sure I have the remains of the old plastic bush, I will have a mooch tomorrow,
