Ok, so my terrano has developed a strange noise. When we reverce into our driveway, there is a large clunk from the front underneath when at full lock. I thought it was in 4wd or somthing but it's in 2wd. Any ideas:confused::nenau

ask me ask me :D :D

i belive, and now about to be wrong, its the full lock stop bolty thingys.
they probally well worn. good dollop of grease will quieten it down and help.

yup, steering stops!!

almost no doubt, get a big blob of grease, plonk it on each stop (4 - 2 each side) and try the reverse test again.

OPS, sorry, nearly got it right dad.................

Thanks guys. It didn't sound like much but just wanted to cheak. I'll grease em up:thumb2:D

I assume everyone is refering to the lockstops. I had a similar noise on my R3mR and its rack & pinion steering with no lockstops on the hubs.

I cured mine by waxoyling the top & bottom of my coil springs. Think yours has torsion bars.
Not sure if this helps you.

Theres normally a rubber thing over the metal stop and it soon wears out. I've never touched any of mine but I'm sure you could try a bit of hosepipe or something over it?

O i

If you have a terrano By law they have to make this noise :doh :lol Had 4 terrano and all done it Get the grease pot out :clap

most 4x4's do it, a blob of grease and it's sorted for years! :thumb2
