 Help me peeps please, my clicking is back when I try to start the car. -banghead-
I have had the plastic base at the bottom of the ignition barrel assembly replaced, and I have changed the Positive Battery connector.

What else can be wrong now -banghead- -banghead-

Does somebody live in the South Wales area who could help me :?:

I await and see -wor-

I would check your voltages at the starter motor on the main feed you should have permenant feed and you should have battery voltage at the switch wire when the ignition is in start postion. I would also check your earth strap to the engine.

Now don't be daft, I can just about get the battery terminal changed but cannot understand these voltage testers.

I have 1 which I bought years ago and is like new cos I don't know how to use the damn thing -banghead- -killingme-

The easiest thing you can do next then is visually check the connections on the starter motor, pay particular attention to the small spade terminal (feed from the key switch) ensure it is tight and clean. It may be easier for access if you remove the off side front wheel and the rubber inner wing cover.

To be honest it does sound like you are either not getting enough power to the starter motor or the starter moter is on the way out, if you can check Toolbox's sugestion it will save some pennies, if not you may need to get a mechanic to check for you, it dosnt sound anything major, hopefuly you wont need to replace it.

good luck

starter probs

Hi, i had the same problem last week, i was about to go on my hols (towing and launching my boat), i had only owned the thing for two weeks,
i woke up one morning and click ,click , so i changed the ignition switch £34, i changed the battery terminals £12 and changed the starter £140 and bingo she has been as sweet as a nut, i have driven 250 miles and been in the sea three time a foot above the door cills no probs.

I'm not sure if this is of help, but on my wife's old Nissan Serena 2.3 D when you started it from cold the solonoid would click like mad until the glow plugs were up to temp. at first it drove me mad but I got use to it. The garage said there was nothing that could be done and not to worry never caused me a problem.

Not sure if it is anything like the problem you are having.
