I think I'd rather keep it as I'm not convinced about the negative effect on roadholding....and I do like to push it...!

So do you think the joint was already popped and winding the bars up exacerbated things, or did the change cause it to pop....? I'm also assuming its what the clonking noise is?

COLIN if I ordered a poly bush set do you fancy fitting it for a fee?! But what about the drop link; I assume I need to order that and it comes complete with the ball joint?

nice one - so I need 1 off 'suspension anti roll kit front' and 2 off 'suspension anti roll link front' (as I'd prefer to do both sides....)....yes?

are you sure you don't mind? how would you be fixed a week Friday, so I don't have to borrow the wifes motor for Strata Florida - not sure the bloody thing would make it?

We'll agree a fee and I can be official photographer while you do the techy bit??!!

you only need SUSPENSION ANTI ROLL LINK FRONT x2 thats all you need to fix that
the suspension anti roll kit front is just a pollybush kit for the bits above and the bar...

but prob wont need that if you do ill use mine then you can replace if you need it

my roadholding was MUCH better after the anti roll bar bushes were done (i had front and back done)

lifting the front made the ride a bit stiffer

thanks Colin; much appreciated, I'll PM you when I get the bits and we'll sort a time out....next Fri if work permits (I'll be bunking off for certain!!! LOL).

Does Polybushing the ARB's make that much difference ? I'm hanging on to my (removed) front ARB, and will fit new drop links to it and refit the wholr thing come MoT time. I'd also fit Polybushes if I thought it was worth it.

Lee.

the fact your putting new bushes on will make the world of diferance. and score points with the mot

Hard to quantify but they definitely last lanog and do appear to be a bit harder so should allow the ARB to work mor effectively, however I have yet to meet anyone who has removed new rubber bushes and replaced them with poly, plenty of people take off old worn stuff and replace em and are pleased with the result but I bet they would have been pleased with a change to new rubber bushes too. Theres also the placebo effect of course - you've spent some money so it must feel better - in my opinion one of the reasons that BFG tyres get such good reports. Wen people have spent that kind of money they tend to feel things must be better - that and pride, the fact that few would actually admit to having spent their money unwisely. They undoutedly last longer but having driven em on the road I'm not surprised they must be made of bakelite or something, certainly its not a soft grippy rubber.

Hopefully, it being Friday, there are some daytime shirkers on here....so first off thanks to all who advised on this thread, and secondly, I just need to know so i can drive the truck temporarily without waking the street up every time I go round a bend, does anyone know:

1. Can I just remove the droplinks for the next week and if I do (i) do I need to remove the front ARB as well?

2. Would it have been jacking the front up that caused the droplink balljoint to pop, or would it have been on its way out anyway? In other words, is dropping the front back down a bit a necessity to stop the new one doing the same thing?

cheers

Paul

In other words, is dropping the front back down a bit a necessity to stop the new one doing the same thing? - it may have caused it to happen but the ball joint on the drop link was knackered anyway, if you look its rusty and pitted. Would have happened soon anyway. You'll be fine with a new one.

Blooming silly too short meassage - had to type this to get it to allow me to post
