for anyone interested, here are my notes on changing the water pump on a 1998 2.7 manual maverick.
there's not as much ground clearance as you might think on your drive:lol
the bottom hose is a real pig, because you can't see the clip and have to work by feel.
a maverick cowling is only held on by the 2 screws at the top, it has 2 feet that have a locating hole at the bottom, so you don't need to remove the battery.
but apart from that the download is a great piece of work, thank you rossco:clap
i managed to get about 6-7 litres of coolant into it, and after squiding the hoses it seems to have settled at that. i'll keep checking for the next few days.
start to finish, with a cup of coffee in the middle, 2 hours, and so far :augie the leak seems to have gone.
