cb installation

thats the next part of the project to sort out the wiring as i don't like it hanging down, thought about routing it behnd the sun visor so the mike is just in front of me so i can use it while it is still in its little holder.

thanks :!: it was actually alot simpler to do than first expected, just had to get the position right, and all is not lost with the first bracket as i'm modifying it to mount the dvd player for the kids in the back

happy with the cb but not the mag mount.knocked it off about 4 times when i went out with sniffer on sunday, which in turn broke the coaxial cable.have been given a truck mirror mount bracket by the wagon driver at work so going to modify it to fit on the roof bars(i think)still like the idea of mounting it above the spare wheel but might keep hitting the rear window :?

Hey elty, thats the type of mount that I use. Simply get a small round file and make the holes a bit longer towards the edge as the bars are thicker than mirror arms. Then get some slightly longer bolts and you've cracked it mate.

thanks for the tip  ,got some bolts today just got to bore the holes out a bit so the bolts sit straight and not taper outwards.

Heyup Cosmic, I aint got a clue what model antenna but it is a Watson and about 1m tall with a springy bit at the bottom. Think it cost about £39 ish about 2 years ago.

Cheers jim,i'll have a look at Waters and stanton!!

Well i've fitted my CB in.
Due to where its located I needed a speaker aswell so got one from Truck-King.
The cerise microfibre cloth is an integral part of the installation

thats the first place i tryed mine but i kept hitting it when i changed gear so i went for the roof mount option.once i had sussed it out was a simple job.

I guess its dependant upon the size of the cb, however i removed a section out of the rear of the cubbyhole so that the cb could be moved right back.

thought about doing that but didn't want to really have to cut any trim.by mounting it this way can remove it in a matter of minutes and put everything back as it was.just hope it all works as i broke my coax last time i was out laning.checked it with the swr but need to go someware a bit less built up to see if it will transmit and recieve properly :?
