for those who are interested , the chart below gives frequencies and channels commonly available to cb users in the uk ( not all legal :augie )

it also gives the prefix codes for different countries , so , if for example you where ( hypothetically ) using one of these illegal frequencies with illegal power output ( :augie ) you would know which country the person was in
 
does any mathematician know what the e.r.p ( effective radiated power ) is , from a 400 watt linear through a 3 db gain antenna ? :augie
 
for the uninitiated , the prefix code tells everyone what country you are from , so for example someone in the uk call sign would start 26 , but thats not really used on legal fm
 
Those were the days,Ham International Jumbo ,40ft high ariel ,hi gain 5 in car talking all over the world.Having cb parties,then they killed it by making it legal could only talk locally.

talk locally ? ... says who ? , i regularly converse with european operators , occasionally the states too
