CB Aerial Mount

OK, after some advice, got me some nice shiny roof cross bars and I am gonna fit some roof lights to it but I also want to mount my CB aerial to it too!
Heres the problem, the bars are oval and quite chunky and I cant think of a way of fitting a mount to them

How are you fitting your lights to the bars? are you drilling the bars or do the clamp on some how?

Is it possible to make a clamp and bracket of your own? or if your drilling for your lights why not drill for aerial mount.

Yes I am drilling and self tapping the lights to the bar, so any suggested mount can be screwed on, just dont know what type to use??

You can buy the actual aerial fitting with coax attached, the are made to repair mag mounts. You may be able to bolt one through the roof bar or make a bracket that bolts through the bars. Give this bloke a call tomorrow and explain what you are wanting to do he will probably help anf does mail order.

You could try a Truck mirror mount , a large one might fit over your bars

Yes I am drilling and self tapping the lights to the bar,

Hope they're just LEDs or something then or I wouldn't expect em to stay attached for long - bolt em through preferably with nylocs then you know they'll stay put.

get a piece of stainless plate to go across the bars and use "u" clamps to fix it to bars, then you can drill and fix arial and lamps to the plate.
