Do your windows go all the way down ?

Yes no probs:thumb2 my baffles are 18mm tho, yours look thinner & the 6x9 speaker basket & magnet will stick out more than a 6.5" speaker. TBH you could get them to clear the window but the speaker would have to be spaced out from the door further & the door card would need some trimming & the door pocket would need modding but you could use the vibe grills, the 2 forums I put links to in my first post have a lot of how too's & build threads showing how people have done it on other cars

Looking good :thumb2

Hopefully mine will be finished and in at the weekend :D

Progress!

Still the rear speakers to do next weekend but the rest is in and sounds sweet. Even the installer was impressed with the 8's :thumb2

Box

Cover that slots tightly over it is now carpeted

6.5" components

With ease :thumbs

Trimmed round the inside of the door card speaker area and it fits spot on :D

Does anyone know if I need a special key to remove my radio pictured in post 37 or will any old flat bit of metal do?

I have 2 of those u shaped pieces of wire that are used for removing radios if any good jim ?

You have 2 options Jim either try & use some flat metal about 8mm wide & see if they will slide in to release the stereo locks into the cage or remove the surround as it's only held in place by 4 plastic prongs which will bring the stereo out with it if the stereo cage is attached to it or give you access to the stereo cage mounting screws if it's held in place with the Nissan mounts

Looks great:thumb2 now the important bit how does it sound now better than stock:augie

The bass is crazy even from the 8's. Had me and the installer smiling. Speakers are clear even when played hard.
Well impressed with it :thumb2

Nice one:thumb2 those 8's will get even better once they have broken in as the cones will still be a bit stiff:augie
Going to see if I can make up a couple of spacer rings so my 12" JBL sub will fit into the enclosure for the 10" volume will be a bit low for it so will have to stuff a load of fibre fill in the box so the sub thinks it's playing in a bigger box. It's worth a try if not it's build another enclosure time:augie

Yeah was just gonna give you the boring talk and tell you to wear em in.lol they'll be better afterwards, minimum 20 hours ideally 100 :doh

They've not been overworked ;)
Looking forward to getting a termlab in there to test what db's it makes :thumb2
