Something we have been putting off for ages due to cost

The windows pictured are bathroom and my missus room, they are wooden framed and rotted quite badly. We have several home improvements to do... One of which being a bath with a big crack in it :doh

But as these two windows are both structural I wondered if anyone is in the trade for pcv instalment with new glass :nenau

This first one is the bathroom quite obviously :augie

The handles have rotted off them and the frames are poorly, especially from the outside

And this one is wider than the bathroom, the bedroom :thumb2

Measure from outside the brick to brick dimensions width plus height and you will stand a better chance of someone being able to match, Rick

Hi Alex ,I'm a it mystified by your saying they are "structural" No window should be structural ,ie spouting any structure around it with rear exceptions for some dorma's or bays?
As Rick says measure from side to side and from head to sill
Then look for a reputable window company not one of the big ones you see on TV as they will want a ridiculous amount - 50% which still leaves silly money :doh
Give them the sizes and get them to quote, do this with at least three, they will want to know how many openers etc .After you have the prices and decided who to go with , then get them to come and measure up .
There may be a slight difference in price if your measuring is a bit out but not much.

Cant measure from outside unfortunately as there is a weak conservatory underneath which cannot be walked on :doh

Measure inside then and quote inside measurements when asking for prices ;)
What's the bath made of ?

If you have an opener, open the window and measure through that...:augie

I will measure the inside then and go from there, nobody in the window trade here? :naughty

If you want a good laugh take a look at my awesome diy repair skills, fiberglass repair twice on the bath, done by none other than my professional self  :p

Alex had you not noticed that I have a few upvc windows laying around? and that bath has gone cos the centre support is not doing its job, pull the panel off and check it is in contact with the floor and that the chipboard support is not rot, it most likely is, Rick

my next door neighbour has a few frames too.
there easy to fit your self mate.
oh and i do like your frilly nets:kissy

:doh you're meant to fix the other side
If you didn't clean back with acetone that patch will be in your plum sack before you get your ears cleaned :lol
For a proper fix, get the panel orff and do the repair underneath. While you're there as Rick says, the bath is probably not supported in the middle.
Once you've done the repair underneath, then you can use a gel coat repair on the inside so your other half doesn't catch her gash :freak3:

Make up a couple of 100x50 [4x2] 'T' supports for under the glassing bars then get a sheet of 12mm shuttering ply to put on the glass area spanning the supports, Then you can get up there safely
Ask your council in writing for an approved contractor

Alex, once you have the sizes, put them upon here incase anyone can help ;)

Ok I shall, in a normal case I would get a ladder and measure the outside, unfortunately petruding out from the bottom of the house is. Conservatory and "garden shelter" meaning there is no way of getting to the outsie of the windows, I would for sure go through the roofing which is like a plastic sheeting on shelter and glass on other :doh

I will measure first and go from there.

Rick, did not notice you had the brackets there? Do they come as one surround or do you cut to suit? :nenau

I wont be making anything myself as this needs to be done by someone who knows what they are doing :lol

If they can be altered, the family might be very interested Rick in your windows :thumb2

get some quotes alex then post quotes I've was in building trade for over 40 years and if I can help I will I was a plasterer but I also used to renovate propertys :thumbs
