First things first, *very* new member (yay!) from Worcester and not yet Y61 owner, so please be gentle as I'm sure this will be the first of many posts begging for information and help...
I've just started looking for a 2003/04/05 SVE trim (auto or manual) Y61. One of the vehicles I'm interested in has definitely been used for the last couple of years to tow a horsebox. Is there anything an untrained but competent person (I can follow instructions but don't have an engineering background) should be looking for in relation to faults/strain on the vehicle from towing?
I'll get MVI UK to do an inspection before I actually buy anything, but I'd rather not pay out £150 every time I'm interested in a vehicle if there's a few simple things I can look out for as warning signs.
Is it just crunching in 5th gear that I should be testing, or is there anything else?
Cheers, Garry
