Well as you all know my bumper had a fight with the ground about clearance and lost so today i started repairs on it.

some of the damage

after i took off the wire i put on yesterday to hold it on it just fell straight off again lol lol

i used some of kamsins favourit stuff to hold the crack together

then fibre glassed the inside

while i was waiting for the fibre glass to dry i found some of the peaks in my wishbone (the things the mud is on is a bash plate off a frontera)

fibre glassed over all the scrapes on there

and over the front of the big crack

found another crack so fibreglassed from both sides

i put the now working again indicators back in place

and re-attatched bumper

now tomorrow i will sand it all down to a smooth finish and repaint, you will never know it had and lost a fight in the peaks :augie :D

what modle you got, as you have light washers... be intresting to fit to mine
 
not a body shop person but aint you meant to drill a small hole either side of crack to stop it spreading ?

i did, but after i fixed it back on to the truck as it was easier

ah right sorry wasnt being bitchy just thought i heard someone mention it before great looking truck im struggling with water leak through back door at moment but fighting away at it lol found bottom of window wasnt even sealed in yesterday :thumb2
 
cut the edge bottom sides away, a friend of venture on here did it and looked good and stop it being caught as much.

would be a good mod stop it catching give u better aproach angle

was thinking of that but i have no bash plate
 
don't cut it so high in the middle then, the plastic won't protect whats under it anyway.
 
I suppose i could of welded it for you:thumb2 next time maybe.

Just need time to get the rubber modified polypropylene welding rod.

Mine's made from the back of an old tumble dryer :O)

thats what i was thinking of doin just hadn't figured out exactly how i would of cut it yet,. tho i do have front fogs so need 2 leave a wee bit more on

i still have my plate tho it needs bent back into shape and put bac on, tore it off @ drumclog :sly
 
Bash plate my arse :doh The standard thing will keep the grass out but you land your truck on a rock or drive into a stump and it'll be a pain to get orff.:eek:
You need 'king huge 6mm plus steel to call it a bash plate, till then it's a drip[ tray :lol
