Bump Stops

Whilst removing towbar prior to this saturday,s off roading,my sons friend told me i was missing a bump stop,when he showed me what it was on the other side it fell off.Phoned local nissan dealer to be told £69 +vat each.Looks like welder coming out and fitting some lr ones at £3 each.Dinky

Me too, rear ones are off and passed MOT like that front ones are either off or on their way, I might rplace them with some smaller ones though, to get some extra travel.

I was lucky Dinky as 1 of mine had split half was through so I no nailed it & has a large cable tie through it & around the chassis incase it comes free again. But both the front lower ones have now vanished & am dreading what nissan will charge for them :roll:

the rear ones are there to help the springs but i find that when you compress the springs and hit the stops it makes the ride too hard there are plenty of other bump stops around just need to work out the optimum hieght so you dont go to far and break something

mine were off when it went for DOE /MOT and it failed. went to remove the old fixing plates and bolts sheared. so welded them on!!!

I've just fitted extra long polybush ones, they come with the lift kit and are to stop the tyres hitting the underneath of arches on full articulation amongst other things.

Angle grinder to old ones for removal 8O

John if my old ones are any good to you you can have them, they seem to be a universal fitting. There are still 2 on garage floor pending the bin that didn't get cut up. Alternativley silicone some rubber ones in place. My old volvo had them in place like that from new to about 14 years old.

Just been and found 3 out of the 4. Packed em for in morning. So much junk in car you'll have to remind me. :lol:
