Ok so the shopping (this month) is done!
When I get home in a few weeks I'll rip it all open and see what I got. I did get an inverter, but not to run a kettle - that was a silly idea of mine! (I'll use the trusty old hexi burner
) -
Military hint of the day! Lots of people think they just make black marks on your mess tins, but hexamine burns clean! You have to clear the ground of ALL twigs and grass before you plonk the burner down. Do NOT burn the wax paper or any rubbish, and you'll have clean mess tins every single time! Make sure to drink your tea, and use the tea bag to clean the (very slight) discolouration you get. (from the wax coating of the hexi blocks.)
Basically I got the auxiliary electrics kit, lights, switches, some storage boxes, a fridge, tent, and a network radio..
Also ordered a ladder, and a few other things (fixtures, fittings and hardware.) I'm just about ready to bug out!
I have my roof bars ready to go on the truck. As they are gutter mounted I'm going to wait till I have the rubber edging I also ordered, I'll cut a length out for each foot, just to protect the old patrol a bit more. I have already decided not to go for a roof top tent, cause I cant be bothered messing about all that way up. This means that the roof bars will be free for mainly solar panels (later on) and lights (on their way!)
Anyway, I'll do the roof bars, electrics, and later on I'll grab some marine ply and build the simple back shelf.
For now I'll just wait here for my stuff...
