Any air in the fuel system can easily be purged by cracking an injector, this will force the air pockets up and out of the system at it's highest point. The trick is to make sure whatever let it in, in the first place is resolved otherwise it will happen again.

Just go back and check your jubilee clips etc and you'll soon have it straight

TA DAAaa...

Got to say that these wheel arch extension thingys are cheap misshapen crap. However, they do the job, and thats all I care about!

Thanks guys :)

Now the not so good bits...

OMG Rust!! (Again...) This is on both sides. I think I'll just grind it away and waxoyl it to death.

They don't quite fit in the lines of the original arches, and they could do with a few more screw points. I must find time to bung the rubber grommet thingys on otherwise they'll rub right through the doors!

I've still not put mine on... :doh

But I feel the same way about them as you! (I'm really not keen on the one on the rear doors!) :(

Truck still looks awesome tho Brian! :bow

Thanks mate :) Next stage will be the roof rack, ladder, and lights. Rock sliders will be after that, then the rear bumper. Then it will be all the interior stuff.

Looking tough. A rear bumper will finish that off nicely

Shopping around for roof racks now...

Will this sort of thing fit? Never had one before, not sure whats involved..
Think very carefully about what you want it to do and what you might want it to do in the future. Then get someone to build one specifically for that purpose.
If you're buying a roof tent, I wouldn't recommend that one.
Fox/batwing awning, that one probably isn't suitable.
If you have existing fittings/gutters for that one, I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't fit (providing the fittings fit).
It took me the best part of a year looking before I bought mine, and I'm more than happy with it.

Ok, just had more of a look around. It looks like I'm going to have to put on a dress and get down the docks to earn some more money...

Here's a sort of question..

I'm thinking of buying a flat aluminium tray type rack and bunging it on 4 gutter mount roof bars with some 'U' Bolts. Is there a curve to the guttering, will I have to order a tailor made set of 4 bars, or is it flat enough so that can I get a pair of 2 bar sets?

Just ordered a ladder, and a few camping thingys.. Getting ready for the end of the hay-fever season!

Battery tray.

Split charging system.

Will this work?

Brian :)
Not really sure why you need an inverter. I'd put the fridge and inverter money together and buy a better built fridge that Waeco/Engel/Dometic offer https://www.devon4x4.com/expedition-and-travel/fridges/fridge-freezers-cool-boxes.html?p=2, I think I'd say the same for the split charger too, mine cost about £60.00 iirc and is faultless. Put the saved money from that into the fridge.
EDIT: And based on pricing of other stuff https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wolf-Box...m=163053344868&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 versus https://www.flatdoguk.com/fd-wolf-box~1, I'd be looking away from Trek Overland.

Ok so the shopping (this month) is done!

When I get home in a few weeks I'll rip it all open and see what I got. I did get an inverter, but not to run a kettle - that was a silly idea of mine! (I'll use the trusty old hexi burner ;) ) -

hexamine-stove02.jpg

Military hint of the day! Lots of people think they just make black marks on your mess tins, but hexamine burns clean! You have to clear the ground of ALL twigs and grass before you plonk the burner down. Do NOT burn the wax paper or any rubbish, and you'll have clean mess tins every single time! Make sure to drink your tea, and use the tea bag to clean the (very slight) discolouration you get. (from the wax coating of the hexi blocks.)

Basically I got the auxiliary electrics kit, lights, switches, some storage boxes, a fridge, tent, and a network radio..

Also ordered a ladder, and a few other things (fixtures, fittings and hardware.) I'm just about ready to bug out!

I have my roof bars ready to go on the truck. As they are gutter mounted I'm going to wait till I have the rubber edging I also ordered, I'll cut a length out for each foot, just to protect the old patrol a bit more. I have already decided not to go for a roof top tent, cause I cant be bothered messing about all that way up. This means that the roof bars will be free for mainly solar panels (later on) and lights (on their way!)

Anyway, I'll do the roof bars, electrics, and later on I'll grab some marine ply and build the simple back shelf.

For now I'll just wait here for my stuff...

Brian :)
