Have thought of this for a while and decided I'm going to do it, buy a car dirt cheap and break it for spares, done that with my white and red terranos and made my money back about 3 times with those:D

Might look at getting somthing popular like a landrover, ford, Vauxhall etc

there are many doing landrovers and parts are cheap.. i would just buy anything cheap and do it..

if you can drive it first to see everything works and its cheap enough you will not loose but i would stick to what you know and break mavericks/terrano's while there are still enough left to break

I'd also stick to what you know, You may pick up a landrover disco cheap but most parts sell cheap too. Axles can be like £50-80 2nd hand.

as above, forget Landrover for a start. Plenty of people wanting spares for the terrano. End of the day, they don't make 'em no more, so the cars are only getting older, and the parts getting scarcer.

Also, id consider a more sportier car perhaps. Such as a Mazda or a Nissan - just something to think about. These days, people look after their prized sports cars a bit more, and so are ready to source spares for themselves. When I was a Mazda owner, spares for the MX3, MX6 and MX5 were always in demand, especially since there were so few on the road-the trick here though, is that the cars are very cheap to buy, and if a V6, people buy the engines alone to implant elsewhere, I saw a lot of people buying a standard Mazda 323f, and implanting the 2.0 V6 engine into that.....so that's about £300 there for a V6 aluminium engine.

but if its a good 200 engine that will sell and you get to weigh the shell in..

But they will make a very big mess on your garage floor :lol
You'll need one of those oil barrage things from Environmental Spills :D

Cars with no tax and test tend to be cheaper but how do you get them to where your going to break them
Dont forget the enviro issues with disposal of oils and stuff
Dont forget about mr tax man
All eat into your profits

200tdi landrovers won't really go that cheap because of this. They are getting rarer and rarer.

A driving license would help :roflol:
Then some trader insurance :augie
That said, one can drive legally a non taxed and mot'd car IF it's to a pre-arranged MOT test at a garage.
I usually book it in and do a 24 hour ins on it drive it home and cancel MOT test appt . Simples
Then again I'm over 25 and have a license :lol

So, landrover is out of the equation then?

Wondering if I could buy dads mr2 as its needing a lot of work, might speak to him later. It's a mk2 jap import.

Waiting for my Hyundai back so I can drive....no car, no licence

No, but you would have to get them pretty cheap to make it worthwhile. Not saying don't do it, just saying it might not be as good as terranos.

Another thing I thought is, it'll be lost in a sea of other's......very popular are landrovers
