Brakes still rubbish after bleed !!

Hi guys getting round to sorting my truck out now and my brakes are rubbish !!

The pedal is so hard and it seems to take an age to stop when I press the pedal

Today I bleed the system and even the compensator all in the correct order.

Took the big pipe with the white valve out of the servo and they got worse !!

So I presume the servo is working ok and when I pulled it out there was a big hiss of air so the vacum pump must be ok ?

What else could it be ?

Both the front calipers have been freed off and sliders are nicely greased

The rear brakes aren't stuck on and the handbrake is nice and free

The truck doesn't pull one way or the other when braking and my truck has abs ?

I'm at a loss as to what to do now ?

Could be the servo itself, to test stop engine, pump brake pedal till hard (3 or 4 pumps) hold pedal down hard, start engine, pedal should go down around 10 mm due to the vacuum assistance, Rick

I've also tried that with the pedal and it does go down slightly so I take it the servo is working as it should ??

Just a thought, are both the calipers the correct handing?
They will fit either way round but the bleed nipple needs to be at the top.
Try disarming the abs , see if any difference :nenau
Mastere cylinder seals gone and fluid on the wrong side

Knackerd front discs, £54 discs and pads on ebay. Bri

Have you had an assistant operate the brake while you jack up each wheel and see if it actually gets stopped? A hard pedal with no stopping power would suggest a servo problem though.

Can't see why knackered discs would cause a hard pedal though!

Knackered pads would be my first thought, as suggested see what's happening when the pedal is pressed. Are the pistons coming out quickly and evenly ? Could be seized pistons ? Pads glazed or contaminated, discs contaminated ? Pads not sliding properly ?

Hi guys thanks for the replies how do I disarm the abs ??

Come to think of it the last time I braked hard the abs didn't kick in mind you the road was slightly damp?

How hard is the servo and master cylinder to change?

What's involved ??

The truck is my main motor for the time being so I needs t be spot on As all the family will be in

Pull the fuse on the abs , that'll disarm it
Brake master cylinder pretty easy only a few bolts to do. Checkout the manual for details but easy :thumbs
