Took the truck for a service and health check on Friday. Needed a new front droplink and is about ready for new brake pads. The garage offered to fit some pads and said "seeing as we've got the wheels off anyway, we won't charge labour - so just £65 for the pads.." He was 'avin a giraffe, right? Needless to say, I thanked him for his kind offer and politely declined. Just bought these off the bay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=140322404408. It's only a couple of brake pads. I mean, any fool can fit them... can't they..?

I'm just about to change my pads and discs. I was going to change them when I got it in August but theyre still ok :augie

One question I have (whilst watching the answers to the above  ) is when I remove the discs, what holds them on? is it the hub/drive shaft nut like on my missus old Toyota ,a grub screw or some other ingeneous system ?

I havent even looked closely with the wheels off yet :D

Try Bullseye always been cheaper for me and usually good quality

Thank you kindly Toolbox. :thumb2 That looks way above my head but I'll show it my mate who's going to fit them. Am I right in thinking that I need only go to 'withdraw the brakepads..' seeing as I'm only fitting pads and not disks?

Yes, all you need to do is remove the lower slider bolt and tip up calliper, remove the pads, press the pistons back, fit new pads drop calliper fit bolt and away you go. Make sure the sliders are good and free as well.

Great stuff thank you :thumb2:thumb2

Its always better than a manual if someone whos done the job can describe it well.

I take it on these tightening the wheel bearing is the good old fashioned nip up till it stops spinning then back a tad ?

Hi toolbox can we get this put in the Workshop good pictures etc.
