Hi guys, has anyone ever removed a brake light cluster from the terranos. It's the 99 plate which has the earlier type. These are two thats either side of the tailgate not the single high level light.

Thinking about putting some kind of side light bulb in there, I'm sure someone has done it on here before. Ive got a pack of universal capless bulb holders which may do but thought about finding a stop n tail bulb holder from somewhere.

This is a mod I fancy doing. Was also wondering if it's possible to get indicators there too.

Haha I even replied to that thread lol, I knew Id seen it somewhere before. Just getting a bulb holder saves taking the light unit out too.

Off to a scrapper tomoz then, will try and get details and let you know how it goes.

Blocky, don't forget the bottom section is a reflector and don't we need reflectors by law?

I know Paul has done it on his old Mav then on his T2 IIRC just below the brake light bulb there is a round park on the plastic which he drilled out & managed to fit a small bulb holder in, fancy doing it myself but keep forgetting about it:lol:doh

I had my lights out the other day to weigh up this mod and its only 3 small nuts on studs holding them in. Must be careful not to drop them though.

what do you need to know Jim with regards removal?

dead simple, open the panel, three bolts, you'll need a long reach socket that's pretty much it but whatever you do DONT drop anything down there - you'll never find it again...:thumbs

Yeah cheers guy's, I'm thinking the best way to go is the bulb holder like Makeitfit did. Have seen brand new bulb holder's on ebay about 4 quid each and I do have to wonder how much a scrapyard would charge for a pair. Might be better brand new.

Will update the post with my results

Finally bought a pair of stop n tail bulb holders from ebay which promptly arrived today. Looks like it simply needs a little notch making in the lamp for the new holder bayonet fitting.

I'll try and get some photos to show what there is and how to do it.
