im looking at replacing my bosch air flow meter. The part number on my old one is:
bosch no: 0281 002 207
oem no: 22680 7F400

ive been offered one which has the same bosch part no but the oem no ends in 7F425 instead of my 7F400.

What is the oem no. and will this fit my terrano?

Thanks

Hi rag1873
The OEM No means the original equipment manufacture part No
IE the part was originally manufactured by another company, I
would give it a go.

ring nissan but prepare for lots umming aarring and terrano???

i did ring nissan... and thats exactly the response i got.. as well as:

"you can only ensure you buy the correct one if you buy it direct from us for £95 + vat".

I cant tell you my exact response to nissan coz im not allowed to swear on the forum but im sure you can guess!!!!!!!

good customer relations then lol,id err on side caution and say no mate unless you can try before you buy

I used to work in a Nissan parts dept for many years and I would say that it is just a supersession (part number change) due to the Bosch number being the same. I can understand the dealer being like that but it really should be an easy job to check the part number out. If the connections are the same I would risk it if it was me.

I can understand the dealers caution, as they wouldnt want to say yes and you go back shouting if they were wrong, at the end of the day the bloke only has his screen to go on and probably little experience of your vehicle.

Thats what makes this site so good! but like the others I think I would give it a go, what is the price you have been offered compared to nissan? and have you tried a ford dealer for the same bit, they are often cheaper?

Thanks for your help guys. Ive agreed to buy it. Its only £40 so if it turns out to be the wrong part it will be a lesson learnt!!
I'll let you know how it goes for future reference for others once ive got it and fitted it.
Cheers for all your help once again!!

Can't believe the price difference in these things.

I got one from a Parks Nissan Dealer in AYR for £34inc VAT

Guess what it was sent down to Ayr from Coatbridge. Both not to far from you.

it was the parks nissan dealer in east kilbride that gave me the £95 quote!!! Same company, different branch!!
Parks arent my favourite people, once bought a grand vitara (i know i didnt know much about 4x4 then) from them and they are shocking to deal with.

i dunno youd think dealers be happy to help customers after all no customers no wages,i remember me dad went to buy lada estate (5spd box no less!) they wouldnt let him see it untill itd been serviced and valeted with thorough pdi all that on 2nd hand lada he alwys went back there when it was time for new one being helpfull and polite costs nothing but can pay divedens
