Cap"n Limey and I are about to fabricate a front towbar for my Terrano. The front chassis on my 2005 3.0 model has two pre drilled M12 size bolts which run vertically as opposed to the 2003 model which bolt the towing eye on horizontally. Would you believe that I am struggling to find bolts that fit. The first set turned in 3 or 4 times and burred ( as in just turned tight and collapsed the threads on the bolt) I think the pitch is wrong on the bolts I have but they are defo M12. I've measured the pitch at 2.0mm which I think is course pitch. Any ideas as to whether the bolt pitch is going to be 1.5 (fine) or 1.25 (super fine). Not going to pay £200 to have one fitted and just need to get over a silly hurdle. Ta in advance. :doh

Unfortunately on the later Terrano the towing eye is welded to the chassis. So no bolts to remove and compare. Think I've got it sorted now. Have sourced some as per previous post suggesting the pitch at 1.25mm. I'll get back on the forum when I've got some "real" problems rather than these silly ones!

Thanks for the replies.:doh

A problem's not silly if you don't know the answer, that's what clubs like ours are for - answers!
