My winch cost me like £170 new, It's still going strong! A little slow but unless you spend £500+ it will be. Got me out of loads of trouble.

Well, I've bought a body lift....well, I bought it about a week ago, and it was being fabricated, should be here next week, somthing I want to know is, is their much needing done, I'm not taking the body off now as its too much hassle than its worth, how will I lift the body so I can slot the blocks in?

You done this yet?? where did you get the kit from? How did you do the bumper?

I want to lift mine, but I don't want to have to cut the console, and I have read in a few places that 50mm is fine, after that you have to start chopping, but some of you guys seem to disagree with that. How much do you need to chop?

50mm and you WILL need to trim your slot
You wont see it once your gaiter is back on. You just need a little more room for low box. :thumbs

Still waiting for it, the guy buggered off on hills before sending it

So is this the actual steel floor pan, or the plastic console, or both?

Just a bit of the floor, about 15mm to be safe. Then the plastic surround needs a trim. Easy stuff and not noticeable after :thumbs

didn't touch the floorpan on mine, just had to trim the plastic bits :naughty:

Cheers, so out with the Dremil, and paint then! Still worried about how to do the front and rear bumpers properly though, and that is the main thing stopping me.

So far I can only find a set on fleabay, or Milners, and the ones I find are only 1.5", who else sells them?

Also I notice most are just aluminium blocks, but some seem to be more like the hard rubber of an engine mount, would it be better to go for them if I can find them?

About bloody time! The guy has finally posted off the body lift, will take pics and a vid when I fit it

So, if I am correct, to do a body lift you need to do the following...

for the LWB, you need to get 12 spacers, and bolts.

Trim extra plastic and/or metal from the transfer gear lever area.

Find a way to lift the bumpers up and re-attach them

Trim the bottom of the radiator cowling

Extend the front and rear drop links.

What about the exhaust hangers?

What about the gap that is now around the bonnet scoop into the Intercooler, how do you fill that?

Is the fuel tank attached to the body, or Chassis, do you need to worry about the filler pipe?

Anything else I need to make sure I have in advance?
