havin had probs with my maverick removed diesel filter was caked up in black slimey stuff bit like wet silicon put new filter on still no better replaced injectors still no better so put new diesel pump on now perfect so thought i would have a look in my old pump removed the top only to see the same caked inside pump black slimey stuff i reckon good clean and blow out old pump will be ok but the question is hows it got there when theres a diesel filter on and wot is the black slimey stuff any ideas ?????????

Are you running on veggi ?I believe it can clean out your fuel lines but I suppose it could be water mix, if you run the tank very low you can pick up the condensation that sinks to the bottom of the tank. regards bri

it had idle problem wen i brought it this was the cause dont if prevoius owners have run it on veg oil i only use diesel added injector cleaner aswell
can u run mavericks on veg oil as mine has zexel fuel pump???????

Look at the stuff very carefully a microscope would be good, you could have the diesel bug, I have only ever seen it once, but from memory it was black and sludgy, it actually is a bug it lives on the moisture in the bottom of your tank, and it can be hard to get rid of, there is a product for it, I heard many canal boaters talking about it as it is fairly common on narrow boats, Rick

Well done Pete for finding that one, saved me a lot of explanation, Rick

think i better order some and try it before it clogs another diesel pump up

would petrol not clear that. add maybe 5% petrol to your diesel.

can you still get the diesel bug in kerosene . maybe run it dry then run the truck on kerro for 20 litres.

i know my old diesel cars i used to put 4 ltr ov cooking oil to 1 ltr ov petrol they ran brill better than deisel smelt bit like a burger/doughnut van but hey who cares im just bit wiery about doing it with my maverick in case it does any damage
