The boy is on a roll now and has decided to "tub out" the rear arches now :clap
Looking awesome already and will give me at least 40mm MORE wheel arch clearance :sly

Rear arches cut out now so there's loads of room for full articulation with the wheel spacers fitted :sly
Truck's still jacked up here mind  as we're cutting the front of the sills back some more too.:naughty

Had a few more hours on the front end today :clap but damn it's rotten :doh
Luckily the boy's habit is getting to him so I got some more miles of welding wire on the Pearl today :D
Front n/s inner arch  well it was :lol

Templates made and scene of crime outlines ready to go

Cereal packet works a treat :)

While the boy was working some more of his magic, I investigated the flooring insulation stuff as it looked a little bubbly ?
Oh look, more drainage :(

Fed the boy some more biscuits and got this :clap

A whole Pizza later and my gaps are filling up again, whoop whoop :D

Hope to get some more tin on it tomorrow afternoon , nice one boyo :bow

Interesting to see this work you've done. My wheel arch was plated up a couple of years ago. My issues today is right at the bottom near the body mount but of course you made your sill rock slider things.

Well mainly because the sills on mine were so wrecked from rust and rocks, it didn't seem worth the bother. So yes made a dirty great box section :naughty
It's the ruddy drain pipes that kill the sills , they also get ALL the condensation in the truck running into them. If your drains are blocked a while you're is goosed :doh
I've drilled great big holes in them now so any water is out of there quick sharp :thumbs

Just been looking at your threads and trying to work out exactly where the sunroof drain tubes are. Are they actually draining water into the front of the sills?

Yes they do and the back end of them for the rear drains .
Mine go out side now mind :sly

You can see it here on the bottom left. It's pulled out in this pic for welding .

FFS Nissan WHY!!!!!!! this is why our bloody trucks are rotten.

That and the multi layered panels on top of each other. Some areas 3 and 4 layers ontop of each other, all with a bit of damp in there fizzing away to the tin worms content
Then one day you stamp on the floor and do a Fred Flintstone :lol

So today the boy and I at last started to revive my old faithful Black Pearl.:thumb2
Poor thing has sat around with only a few odd jobs done over the last year  been too busy playing in the Trol.
Any road up the bloody tin worm has been messin' about in there while I wasn't looking :doh
So a little fettling up front was easy enough and cleaned and sprayed up with Stone Chip grey

Unfortunately the back end was another story :augie what started out as a bit of a blister turned out to be waffer thin  So it's binned now

A bit of sheet on that tomorrow and bingo :thumbs
I'm doing it up properly so I can sell it knowing all is well and well hard again. Watch this space
I wish i had your skills and tools.:thumb2:thumb2

I wish i had your skills and tools.:thumb2:thumb2

Who you calling Tools :p The boy has the skills Ijust put the fires out :lol
Oh and cut miles of sheet steel, I can just weld the big stuff, like the bumpers :augie
Team work
Tools I spy ebay and every now and then the right thing gets here at the right price :naughty
Just got a 12 tonne hydraulic pipe bender for 30 quid , all shiney and loverly :clap
Roll cage next :naughty

Just buy a terrano with no sunroof lads

Then bin the gay air con too :)

Makes no difference, the inside of the truck gets condensation on it anyway and that all dribbles into the sills too. End result just the same
Mine's going to be renamed "Triggers Broom" soon :lol
Hardly anything of original truck left :augie maybe I should apply for a 2013 reg :sly
