Bio diesel for 85p a litre - can I use it?

NO doubt a daft question, but a garage near me has started selling bio diesel for 85p a litre. Can I put this straight into my terrano II or do I need to convert prior??

I'm doing a 400 mile weekend trip, so if I can use it the cost will be significantly less!!

im on the wirral and use 100% bio in my mistral id just carry a spare fuel filter as will bring all varnish and crap out of fuel lines and tank after cpl of tank loads and maybe run 50 50 for few tanks but mine runs great
where in liverpool is the bio ?
im paying 97p a litre

Apparently its the fuel station on Edge lane (the little one next to halfords / kwik fit. But I've not yet been down there to try it out.
Will be going tonight though!

theres a member on here jonathanm lives in st helens may be worth messaging him i know hes used a few in liverpool
might be able to give u some feedback on the place in edge lane

QM, I don'tthink that place on edge Lane has had biodiesel in for months - they used to get it from a place in widnes that burnt down last year or so. There is a place up in Bootle that sells it, on Sandy Lane, for £1 per litre, which with the costs of veggie oil going up is the going rate.

Forgot to add, when the edge lane place did have bio I did use it, and the car ran fine.

Eveytime I've been past recently the bio pumps have had none - signs/bags on the nozzles. Might be worth keeping an eye on that place though.

I did get some bio from a place in Kirkby, bu it was awful. My plan is to try the place up on sandy lane, they have got a place seeling it in Bootle as well, but its a bottled gas place, and the pump on sandy lane belongs to the producer, so I can't see the place in bootle being any cheaper.

Well I just had an interesting voicemail from the sales person at Glyn Hopkin where I bought my Pathfinder. Apparently, use of biodiesel "is not possible without modifications which would invalidate the manufacturer warranty."

Make of that what you will.

Pathfinder is modern engine and most likely true on common rail diesels. T2 etc is old style engine and it should be fine. Good spec bio has a higher cetane number and good lubrication for the pump.

I've only just gone on to biodiesel and it's fab
67p a litre and so far so good:thumbs Running as near as damn it 100% and got 300 miles off a tank load 60litres actualy, and that included bonkas setting on the tunit and a day and a half thrashing about offroad sat and sun then a very quick blast home on the M4 cause I was in do doos:augie

I was in de do doos 'cause I said I was only going out for a "QUICK" blast up Strata Florida !:augie
Then spent the whole day with the Bonkas 4x4 guys and went up the gap in Brecon

As for bio you need to order a 1000 litres and get it delivered to your place.:thumbs
You could get it down to about 59p a litre if you've got an IBC thing for exchange

i can get an ibc from flebay and a friend will got halfs on the bio diesel and keep the tank in his back garden :thumbs

Proper stuff duty paid and works a treat:thumbs
I had a number for a guy in Essex somewhere who will deliver er "offroad" bio for considerably less:naughty Here it is 0800-3423076
Ask Tezzer I think he had some too
The stuff I'm using now is at my mates house cause I've got no where to put it. I'll ask him tomorrow exactly what it is
