Yep just been watching, the best one that I liked was 1000 bhp, 0 to 100 mph, in just over 1 second, 0 to 200 mph, in just over 6 seconds, can you believe the G force on that, astounding, but although I have experienced modern super bikes a few years ago, could not even think about it now but 30 years ago I would have paid good money for a go on that machine, envy Rick

Modern Bikes .....Yikes

I was a keen biker between 1964-69 then lapsed until 1979 when I bought a Suzuki 750 GS.
Even though I was 31 I had great trouble keeping my head from pushing backwards under acceleration. After 6 months I sold the Suzuki and aside from hiring bikes when abroad managed to stay away from bikes until 1995 when I went for a shaft drive Yamaha XJ900.

The rush of adrenaline was awesome but despite twin front brake discs & disc rear the acceleration seemed crazy when it was time to stop.

Wonderful 10 years or more of the Yamaha ownership until the day came when I could not get it onto the centre stand so decided to hang up my leathers!

The very only thing stopping me going back to biking, is total lack of garage/cover for another HD.......it's killing me seeing and hearing them around, and the agent is only about 4 miles away......:doh:doh:doh

Had so many bikes for various amounts of time I can't recall them all.
Gave up riding "sports bikes" 2010ish and now ride off road bikes only.
Had a 1992 Honda CRM 250 for the last 3 years but after a weekend in Wales a couple of months back, have replaced that with a KTM 450 cos I needed electric start and EFI, cos I'm 48 :lol

There's nothing like the feeling you get on a motorcycle :bow

Had so many bikes for various amounts of time I can't recall them all.
Gave up riding "sports bikes" 2010ish and now ride off road bikes only.

I started aged 15 with a 2 speed NSU Quickly - my Dad bought it me for £10 from Bob Minion's when they were on Park Street, Derby!

Old stuff was kept in a wooden shed as there was no room inside the main building where modern Hondas were sold.

When I was a teen back in the 70s, I worked for Kawsaki, at a dealorship in Bradford. It was at a time of the first supper bikes The Honda CBX1100, The kawasaki Z1R and the Z1300. It was a very exciting time.
Then once I realised girls preferred to warm and dry I traded in my last bike in for a car in 1979, and didn't have another bike for 35 years.
Then about three years ago someone let me have ago on their 125cc, and that was it. I had to get another bike.
Driving a bike on the roads here is totally different to the UK. Open roads, few cars on them. I don't think I would bee as keen with all the traffic on the roads over there.
I now have two bikes, A Honda ST 1100 Pan European and a Yamaha XV535 that I rebuilt myself.

Is that similar to a Virago ? I used to hire a Virago when I holidayed in Crete - it was odd that it only cost a few quid more than a Moped out there!
I loved that V twin grunt and the easy riding position.

Yes it is Virago XV535, But with lots of mods, All LED lights, Single carb conversion and 2 into 1 inlet manifold, High flow filter pod , wrapped strait through pipes, Harley risers and bars, alloy custom brake and clutch levers.
