Forget the steering mod for the time being, any ideas where is the best place to buy a drag link for?

I presume this is what I need as I have play in my steering, mot station thought drag link play too.

The old one I will keep and post off to Mr Makeitfit :naughty

As I plan to do steering mod somehow in the future do I just buy any old drag link as a Temp fix or should I source a heavy duty one? :nenau

Cheap and cheerful?

Don't think you can get a heavy duty one:nenau Milners sell normal ones:thumbs

For what they cost new from milners I wouldn't bother with a second hand one.
My Milner one lasted a couple of years with no problems.
Was still ok when I had it modded.

Oh sorry slightly bad wording on my behalf I didn't mean a second hand one.

I will get a new one from xyz and my current one will be modded.

Edit _ can anyone link me?

I saw 66 quid online?

I fitted a milner link on my old truck about five or six years ago and still going strong. Last summer i got a link and both track rods from milners too.

Also check for play in the ns idler that bolts to the chassis.

I've got to do track rods too but this is all one package http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=301355905119&alt=web

May do the bar seperate?

Ok this looks awesome. :naughty

Can anyone give me the a b c of steering setup on terranos, the big bar is obviously the main bit, the two smaller bits pictured in this link connect to the wheels I am guessing :nenau

And I take it they all get play in them?

Replacing all 3 will surely cure my issue and give me a nice steering feel for a while :sly

Seems that multi package works out. Fair bit cheaper too

Wont give you nice steering if the ns idler is buggered, not saying it is but worth check especially as your truck has been lifted.

Ok point taken, we did do a poly bush replacement on it, it was the same after fitting? I presume this would have cured a idle arm problem? :nenau

Ermm you sure we are on about that same item? As far as Im aware there isn't a bush kit for it. Could be wrong so it'll be interesting to hear other peoples views on this.

Rick replaced the worn out bushes inside the idler arm the other month Jim you can get a kit to do it but i'm sure you don't get the dust seals tho which I could do with replacing:doh

What are you saying? Let's not beat round the bush here :naughty :lol

Do I need an idle arm too :nenau

All I knows is mot station said "you've got play in drag link" but were not familiar with terrano at all :nenau

I'm sure Rick rebuilt your idler & if he did then no it's an idler arm not a drag link:doh just jack it up & see where the play is might just be an inner track rod end & not the drag link as you said they don't know about T2's:augie

Hmm could be a money saver then. Just checked milners and they still aren't selling ns idler arm bushes, they just sell the complete unit.

Relay rod(drag link) is big bar that connects the all the steering components together. Track rod ends or tie bars connect to the Draglink then down to the wheels.
Idler connects to the Draglink one end and power steering box the other end.
I changed the Draglink and tie bars at the same time so all six ball joints where nice and tight.
Got that kit from milners you where looking at.

Cheers Elty, this is what I might do, with wheels in air one moves badly whilst other is stationary p, it needs to be addressed, it's gotten much worse
