I have 400 to spend on some nice new tyres for my T2.... Want something pretty chunky but ideally still ok for road use with not too much road noise... Any advice on sizes etc would be greatly appreciated

everybody seems to be into khumo KL71's at present but i keep coming across

Nexen, they seem cheap but are they any good?

You really can't go far wrong with a set of Toyo Open Country AT's - I've recently had a set of four (235/75R15) supplied and fitted by blackcircles.com for about £360.

Have just had some Toyo open country a/t 235/65/17 fitted and seem to work well in snow and muddy tracks and not to noisey on the road.
Cost £440 from local tyre dealers

Do you have any pics of these on your Maverick??? I just went on and fully fitted price for 4 tyres came back at 295!! seems like a bargain

Just checked my receipt and I too paid £300 for the four, not £360 (that price was the tyres for another car!). No pics I'm afraid (I'm in the middle of decorating and I've no idea where my camera is!), but they're about as chunky as any other AT tyre, and much more grippy and quieter than my old road biased Maxxis tyres in all conditions. I wear mine with the OWL's facing out...

Fitted some Premier M/T tyres to mine from 4x4AT a month or so ago at £66.70 each. Very quite on the road with excellent grip on dry and wet roads . Have used them in deep mud off road and in snow with out putting a foot wrong.

I was out on some VERY muddy green lanes new years eve night and the car performed perfectly.

Would recommend these tyres and the service from 4x4AT highly .
