Got mi CB working again (damn thing).

It'll be a week or two I guess before mine is working. I'm waiting for a reply to an Email I sent to Jim at Communication Eleven about it. Ho hum .... why is nothing ever straightforward?

Cheers
Andrew
We once ada a similar problem to your cb problem. We eventually sorted it by getting the correct mounting connections and using swr meter. But with the mag mount we moved it around and swr'd it. Best place on a vehicle is in centre of length and width. Probly know this already tho eh ? :?:

Yeah, probly. The magmount is right in the middle of metal part of the roof on the Troll. I have a SWR meter and the SWR on Channel 8 is about 1.3, which is fine. It shows max signal strength on transmit on the CB display, but you cannot hear voice on another vehicle just a couple of feet away.

I think the CB is goosed. It's only a few weeks old - and I tried to use it in anger for the first time last Friday when I went laning in Yorkshire with some friends from Manchester GLASS. I don't think there'll be a problem getting it swapped under warranty.

Cheers
Andrew

Hi AndrewK it's not a midland 98 is it as mine seem to be playing up as well

My Midlands playing up too, sounds similar symptoms to Andrew. It transmits but there is no modulation (ie no voice) you can tell I'm transmitting from other sets but not hear anything. Have tried a different mic so its not that, had to borrow one for the weekend.

I tried a different mike too - no joy. Also proved my mike is OK in another vehicle.

Cheers

Having been with your Dad all day me thinks he's the best man to do this!
All I can say is that I for one thinks he's good at organiseing those & looking after the one who are abit uneasy on the lanes!

Even almost lost his Landy letting someone else have a drive 8O
