Check your battery measurements, should be about 30cmx 17 x 20 or thereabouts.
 
Theres been plenty of talk on this subject. have a look on here someone found a nice Numax battery which is a straight swap. Numax have 3 yr warranty of them too.
 
just ordered a bosch s4029 of ebay just shy of £80 darryl sorry dont know how to put links in

That's the one I've just brought and could not be happier, the stories i've heard about what these batteries can run are amazing, the mechanic at work genuinely got excited when I showed him which one I'd got lol

I bought 2 of the 86aH version, last week for the boat...
I spent a long time looking into it, and the guy was just up the road in Cannock too.

Maybe your mechanic needs to get out more though.:doh
He clearly was energised and well charged up over the thought.
I am not going to mention anything with the word discharge in it...:nenau

Haha, he's a good bloke isn't he, I was in there for about 30 mins just talking rubbish about batteries haha

I bought 2 86 Ah plus another starter battery for the Picasso, and the young girl said you take the picasso one ( small) and open the car, I looked around and she was stood behind me with one in each hand of the 86 Ah.

That is good customer service...:thumbs

They seem to know their batteries.:thumbs
 
I'm fairly sure the Bosch S4029 and the Varta G8 are the same battery.
I've found there are lots of batteries with different brand names like the Numax, Lucas XV31MF's also available under the Alphaline label as a Marine Battery.
