Hi team

Just a quick one, on my 1997 tdi it has the NATS 2.0 alarm that most of us have, i'm about to sail for 3 weeks and might have to leave the car unattended. Now while i thing that the car will be ok on its own for 3 week, could i fit an isolator so i could save the battery, does anyone know what effect this would have on th ebattery, alarm etc?

Again many thanks dan

well terra will advise better cos he knows the answer , i asked similar before

now i would put an isolator on the earth. but iirc terra said do the live

so still confused. my concern would be no powe no alarm ! which could invalidate yor insurance..... now with this in mind , you could always ask one of your friends (like me) to look after it for you
drive it about while your away with your ship mates

is that any help "RAT BOY":augie

Any half decent batery should stand up to beig left 3 weeks - certainly won't do it any harm. I never have any problems and whilst I can't say it has definitely been left for 3 weeks it can certainly regularly go well over a week without being touched.

Isolator in the live side was when you were talking about competition stuff IIRC Extreme, personally I don't think I'd fit one thats controlling the engine side of things unless it was inside where you can reach it and know it will stay dry. They aren't the best sealed things and are quiet well known for knocking themsleves off with a sharp jolt or bang, not what you need whilst driving. Thus

thats right terra i remember the reason now, and sound advise too
but being poor i still not done that job either

anyway if your worried about battery dan just disconnect it
