Ok just put on my new rims(from a pajero!) with the spacers i bought from sharkie!
Had to take the mudguards off but everything seemed fine, took her for a spin and about 1/2 mile there started a banging from the nearside front and steering wheel wobbling when get up some speed, seems to stop when i put brake on(not sure!)
The rim is not touching the caliper because of the spacers!
Banging seems to go right across steering as after a while i can feel it through the floor on my side but definatly coming from nearside front!
Just wondering if i have put any stress on the bearing or popped a shaft?

Is it an extreme issue with wheel balance? Or could there be something trapped between wheel, spacer, or hub that means they are not sitting true & running straight? I suppose you've checked all nuts for tightness again?

What size tyres are fitted?

I think more from wheel balancing, never had a bother in nearly 3 years of using the spacers,
make sure you have them tight, and wheels balanced, whilst off make sure bearings adjusted too.

poss adjusted my front bearings once or twice in 3 years,

Cosmic Did you try bus with new rack on before fitting spacers/wheels.Could be the rack needs adjustment. Are the wheels running true, not oval.

try and think of the not so obvious things too, i had new tyres on a T2 not long back and the fitter had dropped an exhaust clamp inside one of them!

Hi peeps,i jacked her up today and pulled at the wheel, sure enough there was movement(not much though!) took the wheel off and much to my embarrassment 5 off the nuts on the spacer where loose and one was tight on,i can't remember tightening them,so it's my fault
I am using the wheel nuts that came with the spacers from shark1e and they seem to be fine, think I'll get all the wheels balanced and the tracking done these week as there is a vibration at 50mph,(no banging any more!)
The tyres are 31",i haven't put them on a ramp yet to see if they are fouling in the wheel arches! will do this weekend,i had to take the mud flaps off as they were rubbing on them!
Besides that they seem fine!

best to add a little locktite to the spacers nuts, i never and never had any loose since using them.

banging noise

had new tyres, had them balanced, tracking checked and i still get a wobble at about 50 mph, speed up to 60 mph and it goes, slow down to 45 mph and it goes.swapped the wheels round and i still get it.glad to hear you sorted out your banging noise,iv'e just bought a set of 30mm hubcentric spacers, arrived today, went out side to fit them, the bolts supplied don't fit the studs on my t2 and the nuts i have dont fit the studs on the spacers, have emailed the supplier with a few choice words but will have to wait until the morning to see what they have to say

I bought shark1e's spacers so i new i was onto a good thing
Yeah the wobble is only around the 50mph above or below and all is well, they were wobbling all the time before.
Before i was informed i had the wrong nuts on,so the wheels were not on tight

banging noise

i was just going to use my original nissan nuts on the spacers, never had a problem with them apart from when i first picked up my t2 and the front wheel had not been tightened properly.iv'e got standard alloys and wheel nuts.

Yeah sweety, got the nuts from the scrappies(ford i think!)but then the alloy nuts that were on my alloys don't fit the thread of the spacer!!
Have had a run in it,now going to take the wheel back of and check them again, just for piece of mind!

studs thread are 1.25 pitch on t2 and mavs etc and the thread pitch on the wheel spacers are 1.5 normal jap pitch, hence why the chrome nuts supplied with spacers,

never had any problems on either my nissan alloys or standard steel wheels, no banging or wobble etc.
