bad starting solved

thanks to all thats passed on advise and support with my starting problem,:thumb2 my t2 finally gave up and failed to start. mil light flashed for 20 mins of key turning then stayed on, it turned over but didnt start. i was stranded in work with basic tools, it took me an hour and half of struggling to remove the 10mm bolt holding the crank sensor in the bell housing, just to find the lug it was holding had snapped off the sensor:doh after borrowing 2 prybars from the fitting shop up the road, i prized the sensor out of the bellhousing taking half the skin of my knuckles and arms to boot, the magnetic end of the sensor had a load of rusty crap stuck to it, i wiped it off, popped a blob of grease around it courtesy of the well greased jcb parked 30 feet away,:thumbs popped it back in less the bolt, refitted the wire and fired up first go.:thumb2 iv`e ordered a new one from local motorfactors, £72 lighter problem will be permanently solved. its starting everytime with the old one, but with it broken i`m goyin to change it for piece of mind:clap. should any of you encounter these symptoms, its the engine crank sensor thats at fault. 1/ mil light flashing, starter turning over but wont fire. 2/ mil light stays on after turning ignition on and off dozens of times, then fires up and runs as normal, only to flash again next time you want to start it. 3/ lack of power when running. i hope this can be of help to someone because its done my head in for the last fortnight cheers Andy:beer

Well done for sorting that one out - you must be chuffed!

Would this be going in the download section? - it's amazing how short a time these things forgotten about and the subject comes up again.

type it up as a download and then ask BAT21 to move it in to that section
