There is a final drive lock (?) that happens when cruising, maintaining a steady speed. I can ease the speed up, even when towing, without it "unlocking". Obviously if too much right foot used, it changes up.
I seem to remember Ray mentioning it was some electrical wizardry, and even possible to fit a manual switch.

I have a 2.7td Mistral (same as Briggies) the Nissan Auto box is a bit weird it drops down at the slightest provocation, off the gas slight incline etc.

Your box assuming the same set up is ok just quirky

Not sure bud, but Wheelie seems to think there is a 4th speed before overdrive ie. with overdrive off it should still give 4 speeds. That's incorrect, the Trol 4 speed auto is actually 3 speeds + overdrive. Overdrive is the 4th speed so with o/d turned off there will only be 3 speeds.

Well that explains a lot especially the lock so that's my 5 drops in revs 1st 2nd 3rd overdrive and lock. What a stupid gearbox lol but at least I know it's normal and I'm not going to have to spend a fortune on it. I was beginning to think I had a duff one :doh:doh
