Pointless references for the Terrano unless you bin the IFS and go solid axle.
Nice jeep action though :thumbs

IFS

Hi,

I completely agree, the IFS on Terranos is a limiting factor.
Pretty sure I have seen on a link from this forum some guys modding a Terrano by fitting a front live axle. IIRC it was eastern european, might be wrong:confused:
Cheers
Steve

Yep it was and I wish I'd gone that route from the start really:eek:
In the mean time I can do this :D

I posted both of those a while back on another forum :naughty :augie :thumbs

Good work man ship on the SJ but curious to know what spring/s they have on it ...........

i can see what your saying about articulation, BUT its not like it was a track a stanard truck wouldnt have done. all you gain over a standard truck is a more comfy ride. on this lane

your terranos and the landy are capable of so much more i watched adz's youtube thing too and yes it looks good but again standard would have done lots of that .

i dont think people really see what these will do standard. we all did this when we started out up at walters trying stuff and if it wouldnt do something we'd go back and work out how to make it do it .

im glad adz has gone more standard cos he will show people what a bloody good tool these are .

whats really needed is some really good pics of what the black pearl is now capable of cos it will outdo a tricked up landy

I'm usually having far too much fun driving it to take pics :D
We've got another proper weekend out in a couple of weeks or so, I'll get some shots done then:cool:

How does the truck stay level ?

Ah that's all Team Wales hyper secret :lol
If you look carefully you can see that the front end is twisted the other way over what is commonly called an axle twister. Just the sort of place a Landy would get stuck, or cross axled
As we've got LSD in the back end we can compensate for the IFS by having BOTH rear wheels driven :D

Like ! Like!

and I reckon makes these trucks better on the road too, where ifs is smoother
and LSD can aid 2wd traction.

Nice one Fez!

Here's a shot of my Maverick at the same spot (I think?) as Makeitfit's.

The beauty of the LSD is that while mine is waving a wheel several feet in the air (it's stopped here for the photo) it just drove on. A proper locker is better for sure but as has been mentioned, it is impressive what these will go through in standard form. I'm considering some mods on mine, but I know it's a slippery slope once you start... like Pringles!

yep thats the same spot as pete, I took the photo of his.

Parking can be a pain, Hence why I had to make a spot.

So has anybody actually used this techique to enable a wheel to be changed without a jack?:augie

Watched a Landi owner refit his dislodged rear spring using this technique, apparently the springs fall out quite regularly, Rick
