Hi clivvy, what about Pages for a MAF? failing that Parts Gateway web site, they search breakers yards for you. Theres also Thornton 4x4 Breakers at Thornton near Bradford.

Jim

If it comes to it, i'll do just that, I have passed Thorntons recently, might even try them, but I think I really need to test the resistance or whatever first, so waiting for some info from the Zipster...:thumbs

Clivvy I got a can of Servisol Contact Cleaner if you want to nip over at the weekend. Cleaned my MAF a treat and doesn't leave any residue.

Thanks Jim,

i'll check what I have got, and let you know, I am sure I have some electrical contact cleaner somewhere that I used for my old MAF, if I find it I'll giev it a clean tomorrow. What did you use to scrub the wires?I used some cotton buds but didnt think they were right good-left a bit of fluff...

http://www.emissioncontrols.co.uk/page.php?domain_name=emissioncontrols.co.uk&viewpage=Maf Sensors

they need the part number..

MAF for a Terrano TD27 (ETI) 1996 model, It's an Hitachi & the numbers on it are 22880 , 2J200 , AFH70-14. It has a 3 pin connector, or one that can be adapted !! also the voltage output ,Key on=1.0 volts, Idle=2.2 volts, this the one you need?

Not sure Zipps, Ill have a look at the MAF tomorrow, I found this site earlier, so thanks for the heads up, if needs be I will ring them, going to see if the error code goes tomorrow after a clean!

I dont think you want to be scrubing those poor little wires:eek:
Especially if you're leaving fluff behind, no wonder the poor thing is coughing, probably choking on cottonwool buds:lol

I wouldn't be scrubbing any wires Cliv - its the old story, the more you feck about the more damage you do. The wires are really fine and I'm convinced that a lot of folks who end up with problems have just fiddled too much. All I can say is now 268,000 miles and counting in three trucks and never had a MAF problem:nenau

Whatever is on it will only be micro-shite thats found its way through the air filter anyway. So a good drowning in electrical cleaner - not just a weedy spray - should wash it off....repeat the dose if it makes you feel better :)

But as Pete and I have said, run it with the MAF disconnected afterwards and see if it makes any difference - and also remember the chap who's just found a busted wire on his MAF loom.....might be worth doing a continuity check with a meter?

Oops, hope I didn't break my old one! Will do a continuity test as well followed by a good clean!!

errr....I bought a 27MM diesel injector socket...and its way bigger than the new injector I have!??

guys, i am just off out to try buy a 22mm diesel injector socket, but i am hoping for some extra advice. I got the intercooler off, but it seems greasy inside the manfolds both on the intercooler and on the inlet, like oily grease, how can I clean it? Just use my de-coke can??

I washed mine out with petrol, then THOROUGHLY washed it out with hot water and detergent, several times.
Followed by a good drying with the girlfriends hair-dryer (the nozzle was a perfect fit!). Then left it on a hot radiator in the house for a couple of hours.

girlfriends hair dryer, good idea, I'll do that!!

So I went round EVERY car shop I could find, non had a socket that would fit :(

i have one here, bought it for mine, got wrong size, i need a 27mm, £8.50 delivered, it is brand new never used :lol

weird, seems mine is 22mm, there are only two sizes? Halfrods only do 27mm. I did find soem hex type 22mm ones, but they didnt fit, the type should be bi-hex as far as I can tell...???

Ok, so I'm hopefully fitting the new no1 injector tomorrow, but I just realised that the sensor plug won't fit through the socket, so how on earth do I fit the wire through the socket?? The only thing stopping it is the grey clip, but it doesn't seem to come off...
