Anyone got pics or thread of arch cutting? Just wanted to know if you are cutting plastic only, or plastic and metal? :nenau and how much?

I've done mine and posted thread and pics but buggered if I can get any sense off the poxy search thing on here :doh

All depends how much the tyres catch.
I took about 30mm off mine.I had grind the seam flat,re weld it and thrash it with big hammer to get 265/75/16 muds to clear.
This was done before I did the bodylift.
All depends on the off set of the wheels.
Mine just cleared the arch but caught on the steering idler.
I fitted 30mm spacers which solved this but they caught on the arch again so it was back out with the big hammer.
Will stick some pics on for you tomorrow :thumb2

That would be massively appreciated :thumb2

Think I've got my work cut out here...

Cheeky sod
That's all re welded mate. Inner tub flush to the outside near as damn it . Just under the old plastic holes

Darn it, I thought as much, I was hoping not to go as intense as that but what needs to be done needs to be done :naughty

I guess once front bumper is on, I will then weight up wheels against arches and get a rough idea, I'm gonna order the body lift kit too me thinks the 2" :thumb2

Unless there are any better or bigger lift kits? :naughty

I'm running 35s though. You won't need to do that for 32s :thumbs

Get ya stuff in the back & drive to me ;) :thumbs

Not sure if it would work but instead of cutting the metal of the arches back could you not use an arch roller to bend up the lips of the arches:nenau

You'd get the middle bit to roll a bit but there's quite a turn back from the outer edge to the inner tub. Makes it pretty strong as long as the rot hasn't set in :augie

Anyway, as said before , you won't need to cut the arches for 33s
Just the usual suspects up front. Beast the seam flat and trim the wing back to the first mounting screw at the bottom :thumbs

Oh and I'm assuming at least 2" body lift OR suspension lift. Both is better but not essential.

Yes sir, body lift was ordered today.

So you think just a trimming of front wing?

makeitfit is The #1 Modifier on here 100% & his mods are awesome :bow

I like my grinder & like to be different so Dirty Frog ll has NO body lift but major arch cutting.! I want to keep it as low as possible for a few lanes I do ;)

Funny you say that we have a few lanes Here that we have to stop for and move heavy brances ect.

Dinno if you saw my pic where this flexi bamboo like branch ripped out my indicator!

Can I hijack this thread and ask if arch trimming is an acceptable way of dealing with rust? My new truck has typically rusty arches which further investigation leads me to think I should get something done to them. With the sale in got some new plastic spats that seem a slightly different profile to the old ones so in thinking of breaking out the jigsaw and trimming the rust off then sikaflexing the new spats on.

Or should I just buy a pair of glass fibre wings and be done?
