the 2.5 hasnt got a good rep but the 2.8 is by all accounts very good, hence the 3.5k price tags on 93 plates... they dont appeal to me, they seem a bit, well, how can i put it...pikey? :augie or new ones in brum....pakistani...
 
the shoguns/pajero's on the 2.8 have a tendency for the head to go, i know of a v6 that went big its not pretty, the 2.5's are better in that respect

with it being a v6 it has two heads luckily only one went

the 2.5 sport(much prettier) can be picked up for £1500 for an 03 plate, this reflects their reliability in real terms, yes, odd cars do throw wobblies, all brands do. mike.
 
Early on I was interested in a V6 petrol shogun, but was put off by the cam belt. Bit of a pain to replace.

I love cam chain engines. (When they are tensioned properly...)
