Hi All

Just replaced My maf sensor for the third time in thirty-two Months. the good news is they are getting cheaper.

Prier to it going again I have experienced loss of power in torrential rain when I have been on the motorway.

Is it possible to get water through the air intake duct and contaminate the maf sensor?

I have A K&N Air Filter is it possible to contaminate the maf sensor with oil from the air filter?

I don't know much about the KN filter but is it possible it is leaking air in to the system after the filter. This could be a source of contamination perhaps.

Arthur,
You say that the MAF's are getting cheaper, how much? and where from?

Hi Rick1956
I get my maf sensors from the dealers.

2005 sheffield £65.00
2007 bradford £70.51
2008 Doncaster £58.75

I got a qoute from my local car spare shop Bullseye and they where asking for £99.00. I am still ringing around for a better price as I am sure I will be needing another, my sensors is the bosch type.
