Well been on this one for a month or so, top spinner arm support on a commercial dish washer, the brass nut came detached from the plastic housing, as a temporary repair I epoxy bonded it back in and then pressed on a copper plumbing fitting to compress the plastic in order to give it some strength, it finally failed today, after lasting some 6 or more weeks, in the mean time ordered a new housing but new one would not accept the original spindle, so they sent me another, but was just the same, they insist the parts are correct and not defective, tested by their boffins, yea right, then why will my spindle not screw into the housing? in the pic you will see the spindle and original nut, the top mould is from the original nut the lower one is from the new nut in the housing on the right, although the pics are poor I think you can see the thread depth is not the same, my answer to this is put the spindle in the lathe and take the top off of the spindle threads till it fits, let you know how it goes tomorrow, Rick

Turned it down this morning, started out at 13.5mm finished at 12.2 at which point it screwed in, a tad tight on the last quarter turn but it seated fine, fitted it to the machine and all OK, Rick
