2004 3L Terrano.
It has recently started sounding the alarm for no apparent reason. Over Easter it was parked next to my caravan (so in my sight all the time) & the alarm would go off up to several times a day (& worse once in the middle of the night!) despite the internal sensors being switched off. It would be ok for 1-5 hours & then activate,
I ended up having to leave the car unlocked as the alarm would stop for a few seconds & then go off again. What is worse the alarm remote needs to be within 1 foot of the car to do anything. Is there a fuse I can pull or some other way of disconnecting the alarm?
The only possible reason I can think of is that we were parked under low overhead 'phone/power lines.
.......Hellllp!.........
Despite everything we managed to get off a very boggy field that was defeating most (inc. a new-ish Freelander!), much to the surprise of fellow campers (& me!).

I think if you remove the bonnet switch from the bracket so it thinks the bonnet is open, it should stop the alarm sounding but still allow you to lock up.
Although I could be wrong :lol:lol

Yeah the bonnet switch will inhibit the alarm from setting, if you disconnect the bonnet switch and then bridge the two terminals it’ll stop alarm from arming so a work around until you fix the true cause.
Have a look behind the alarm sensors for water ingress which triggers the ultrasonic sensors.

Thanks 'Blocky 10' & 'jims-terrano', looks like you have the answere.
I still suspect overhead power lines were the cause as it's been alright since coming home. However, I don't want to risk it happening again so have unbolted bonnet sensor & left it lying securely out of harm's way. Peace at last LOL.
