Hi guys , I have a problem with my p reg terrano s alarm system
The key fob is separate from the key and does not work even after replacing the batteries .. I can lock and set the alarm by the keylock but I can't turn it off when I unlock the door. When you open the door alarm goes off .The only way to stop the alarm is to put the key inignition and turn it on .the central locking still seems to work okay .does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong

Check out the downloads section in quick links, theres a section about reprogramming the fobs. Have a go and let us know how it goes.

On both of T2's i've had if you lock the door with the key or remote & then unlock it via the door lock the alarm go's off:doh the only way to shut it up is how you have done it by putting the key into the ignition:augie

Hi guys ,I have had a look at the download for reprogaming a Nissan terrano key. But does this apply to my key seeing as I have a separate key Fob ? I will how ever try to reprogram the key fob tomorrow .

The download works for my seperate zapper on my 1996 with the red and black buttons. Also it worked on my 05 plate with the all in one key as well.

I was told last year it works on all the terrano alarm remotes but obviously genuine nissan only.

Can the doors and alarm be out of sync if opened by key ect. Perhaps do a door unlock with blade. Then lock up again and start over? :nenau just an idea..

Well I think my key fob is u/s !!!! The car seems to behaving its self while I try to program the key fob but it still ant working .

If it's annoying, then you may want to temporarily disable the alarm.
You can do this easily by removing the rubber from the bonnet switch.
This will prevent the alarm from setting.

Good shout as a temp measure.

On another note, not seen on here but alarm unit can become faulty too as seen at Jag... Could is be a possibility :nenau

Or remove the drivers door panel & unplug the wire for the micro switch on the rear of the drivers door lock, had an auto door locking issue long story but with this unplugged if I lock the door via the key the alarm no longer arms any more mines a younger model but think it's the same set up:nenau
