P.S, I saw the fault reading come up on machine it read turbo pressure.

My fuel cap is a ford/nissan original. Its a very simple screw type no diaphram.

If Im right the breather pipe usually runs from the top of the filler neck to somewhere behind the bumper should just prevent air lock could get choked up??

Do you get exhaust smoke when the power goes??

I am more inclined to think its the filter housing. With the push valve at the top, the seal to the filter and the tap at the bottom seals. would doing other things like loosening the cap be compensating for the real issue??

Have the injector been looked at as vibration on diesels can loosen bits or even snap a metal feed pipe (my transit)

I may be wrong but I think its reading turbo pressure because of the fuel problem not a turbo problem.

Rule out the small stuff first??

Do you use the same fuel station??

Normally when a Turbo fails it fails big time and you know about it! It could be gone and without looking at it I wouldn’t want to say, you could take the pipe off the inlet and look in to see if the vanes are intact and also wobble the shaft, a very small amount of play is normal but any amount indicates failed bearings/shaft.

Out of interest and on another tact have you got an EGR valve on yours?

sorry to sound stupid  but what is an egr valve?
and where might it be?

Also where is the pipe to the inlet? would be intrested to look ( or get other half to look  ) dont really want to spend so much money unless im sure its the turbo. Why do these experts have no idea!! its so frustrating :x

The EGR valve (Exhaust Gas Recycling) if you have one will be on the rear of the inlet manifold connected to the exhaust manifold via a pipe at the back of the engine.
An easy way to tell its to look between the engine and the air filter where you will see a black solenoid connected to some small rubber tubing, if you have EGR there will be 3 of these solenoids and only one if you don’t have it.

I think 4x4xford is correct on the fuel tank breather probably worth a look as well.

Ok going to get car back tom will attempt to look. 8) many thanks again
Someday ill be able to drive terrance again!!

Its the hose from the air filter to the turbo

have you seen the download for reading your own fault code toolbox will tell you what it means £1300 lot money to spend!

That’s a good point Jace, there is a list of codes with it aswell.

I looked but didnt make much sense to me :( This cars been on three diffrent diagnostic machines now i cant belive that noone really knows whats wrong! anyone know a good mechanic in surrey??

The worst thing off all is that im having to drive around in a white van!!!!!

it does seem daunting dont blink kindve thing but for £1300 worth go! print it off sit in car run through it few times till u feel confident enough to do for real!

I dont believe that i cant get a turbo cheaper!! surely im being ripped off as always with nissan

usally in back autotrader fellas advertising turbo recon/exchnage but what if turbo aint to blame cant get to work because sommat else putting car into limp home mode!

I know!

I dont know much about cars relying on supposed experts. running out of places to take truck and its now undrivable unless u disconnect the maff im realy not sure what to do.
so far ive checked all fuel lines
had tank flushed
replaced filler cap
had new fuel filter housing
replaced rubber pipe into turbo which was split and some fuel came out
tried replacing boost pressure valve on turbo ( no diffrence)
had three seperate diagnostics done teh llast showed turbo pressure
had a guy look at turbo telling me it had gone

:?:

MORE NEWS!!
