Air Con

Hi, i've only had my t2 for a week or so
can someone either tell me what i am doing wrong!!

when the heater fan is running and i press the aircon button it lights up, but nothing happens, nothing gets any colder or anything

should i hear a differance in the engine or hear anything kick in (condenser??)

or does it just sound like it needs regassing??

hi buddy ... yeah i had same problem ... and yes it was needing regassed ... and u should hear a very slight difference in engine noise when sitting idle when u try air-con ........... good luck

Thanks fot that, i'll take it somewhere and get it regassed and see if that works

Whilst we're on the subject of aircon does anyone know if it was ever fitted to the 2.4 petrol models? I've never seen one with it but....

if you go to kwik fit they'll do an aircon check for you - if it needs regassing it's only 45 quid and if doesn't need it then it's FOC.

Hi mine was the same. I know a dairy engineer who checked it, regased it and its been fine since. Ice cold if you like. the olny problem is my fan dosent seem to blow very hard even on full bore. good luck ,should be fine when regased.

I had the same problem. I replaced the cabin filter, it was black, I doubt if it have ever been changed. The difference was amazing.

I think what ever vehicle you have if the AC has stopped it is worth changing the pollen filter and having it regassed at kwik fit for the simple reason they don't charge if the regassing doesn't work. Both jobs are a must for the AC.

job done!

took the terrano to kwik fit and they regassed (said there was no refrigerant in it?)

when he tested it afterwards the temperature inside the car went from 24 degrees to 6 degrees in a matter of minutes!!

the fitter also showed me where the pollen filter was, so i had a look and was shocked at how black it was

there is now a new pollen filter insatlled and the differance in the blower is amazing!!
