go ahead , we are here to help and advise , oh and extract the urine sometimes too :augie

bare with me

right, changed oils , filters but still there seems to be something missing, no oomph .not expecting 0-60 supersonic but would like to be able to do it in under 30 se. when starting off engin seems to be racing and not changing gears , but if we press a/t switch down it seems to help a bit this is our main concern . others we can talk about as we get more familiar :lol

Changed Air filter as well??

do you have a MAF.. wires coming outthe pipe between air filter box and intercooler?

got more detials of your Mav.. 2.4 petrol. inter cooled or not...

Didnt the Mistral only come as an auto diesel?

No oooomph - I had no ooomph and it took a cleaned maf sensor, a good service, a de-cat pipe, a new back box and a proper fitting manifold before it all came back :thumbs

little fule filter as well. check downloads ( quick links ) top right

to change gears quickly in the mistral , simply take your foot off the loud pedal , but avoid kickdown, driving the mistral is totally different to any other auto diesel i have ever driven , once you get used to it , its the dogs danglies . keep the a/t selector switch in the middle , accelerate gently , because if you press the loud pedal hard you will only go into power mode , and that prolongs gear changes

many thanx

many thanx guys am gonna try to clean the maf 2mora hopefully it goes well :(will let ya know thanx again :thumbs

If it's the 2.7 TD it is a non intercooler version and doesn't have a MAF.

If the revs aren't steady in Neutral (park) before you engage drive then it could be air getting into the fuel lines and you may get loads of white smoke.

Mini filter would be a good starting point, also if engine is rough on start up it may be the glow plugs.

you got an intercooler on top of the engin with a hole in the bonnet.. you have a maf..
no intercooler.. no hole... no maf...

no hole, no maf

well i know its not the maf sensor then, have been driving around takin it easy a/t in middle we think it might be coz we aint ever driven any car older than 3 years old or a diesel and not used to it:doh

thgat will be the problem then

mistral

hi mate and welcome. the mistral dont have a maf. the gearing is very slow and acceleration is slow. its built for comfort not racing starts. takes some time to get used to using the throttle properly but once you have its fine. still, check the mini filter and a good service is an idea.see the threads on here for info

Could be, the bloke I bought my last car from sold it really cheap because he though it was buggered - it was just a diesel !
