p.s. hows the car running? have you dared to do some "testing" with it, such as a harsh warm up and test drive, to see if it plays up once the engine is hot?? At least if it does, and if it does stall, you know all you need to do is wait 20 mins for the engine to cool then drive home! I think, I could be wrong, that if you unplug it, it will run, just very poorly! Dont quote me on that though, its just im sure a member said it was true a while back...

when i was a TV engineer, we used to use a spray to freeze/cool 'thermally intermittent components' to help diagnose faults, you could probably get it from maplins, do you think it would help?

I used lightcliffe in Halifax mate, they gave me £10 off because I said I knew another member from the club that wanted one, which was true, but JIm bought from Wakefield. lightcliffe were the cheapest I could find at £190, other places wanted £220 upwards :lol

http://www.lightcliffe.nissan.co.uk/

good luck, one thing to double check though mate, is the connector, if you want, ill dig out the part code tonight and post, if yours is the same year as mine, Nissan told me there were a few different sensors for the different years, and the plug diagrams they had differed..!!!

***just checked your signature, yours should be the same as mine and jims-terrano, so ill send you the part code tonight OR just ring them and they'll find it, they were very helpful!

Not all Mazda's are painted with the same shiney golden brush !!

We have a 323F 1.8 in the family (why I dont know- owner too stubborn), and without doubt over its 6yr lifespan and 110k it has been singley the most unreliable, rusty, overrated, expensive, and badly built crock of shit I have ever experienced!!!!!

(Reason- "because I didnt like the shape of a Focus")

I have a feeling it was sat on an airfield for at least a yr probably in water before it got to the showroom.

It's worth f**k all, and I would prefer to jump into its neighbouring-14yr old almost pensioning 200k Volvo S70 and know I would arrive without incident.

Footnote- its broken again at the moment, the tin sump has rusted through. hahha

lol, oh dear, it does sound like you have a lemon. my experience so far has been nothing but fantastic. Such a shame about yours, i love the 323F shape and style (the early to mid 90's curvy one).

aye, I knew you'd think that when you saw the sensor, I thought the same! Your only other option is to get a second hand one, cheap, and use that as a test. the risk here is knowing wether or not that used CKP had issues before car went to scrap. I suppose a good guide is mileage of vehicle and age. I wouldnt want to be paying more than £30 though, and at least you can fit it yourself (sorry, im not a big lad so my tiny hands fit down there no problem!). 30 mins idle and revving will hav eheated that engien up enough to affect the sensor. I bet when you replace it, you notice a big difference in drive, because that sensor affects so much in the car, not just starting and keeping it running, I believe it affects timing, injection and stuff like that and works in conjunction with all the other sensors, especially the no1 injector.

If you wana try a second hand one try Thornton Breakers in Bradford or Halifax. Try get them to agree you can return it if it dont work, or maybe get them to put it in whist your there and see if it makes any differnce?

thanks
