Is it possible to manually adjust the headlights on a 2002 Terrano II? I don't really want to fork out for new LHD headlights and I cant use the tape to get it through its French equivalent of an MOT.
Any advice much appreciated.:thumbs

The only way I know of is to fit LHD headlights as the light patten is part of the front cover glass

When I'm driving over there I just use the levelling switch to depress the lights, but not sure if that will get you through and MOT?

Thank you, no I have to be able to adjust them the other way.....looks like I'll be forking out a few hundred quid on LHD headlights:hmh

well its still cheaper than paying another £4-5k for a LHD vehicle...:)

Very true but my friend has an '02 X-Trail and she managed to get them manually adjusted.....thats the only reason I asked.

Well it depends if the beam aiming is in the lens - if it is, as said above, then you've no choice but to swap for European headlights (which are expensive - £600 on eBay so I'd check prices over there or see if you can find some from an accident-damaged truck).

Maybe she can tell you what was done and where she had it done, because it might just be that they've adjusted the headlight aim which isn't necessarily the same thing as it doesn't change the spread of light which on a UK car is biased to the left hand side for obvious reasons...

I was just her neighbour that done it and it then passed its Controle Technique (MOT equivalent)

Find out what he did then and get him to do it to yours :):)

For info I don't think the beam pattern is controlled by the glass on the later trucks as the headlights are clear glass unlike the older version....might be that adjusting the headlight left to right might be enough?
