good buy Colin....am I right in thinking if you use a snatch block you can reduce the strain on the winch a bit...that or a pulley arrangement like on an engine hoist which wouldn't be too complex to do..you're right, you won't be pulling Peter up any cliffs, but I reckon it will do the job most of the time! Nice one.

well i got a 6 ton one going on the front of mine now.... but this will give me one on the back or the flexibility to put on someone elses truck when they are stuck . or winch off to the side....

at 80.00 its worth having in the boot..... as you have seen

one snatch block should double the pull but half the speed

but i have seen 4 snatch blocks on the same run on winching video's .... really really slow

On the subject of an extended plod search..........
I met a mate the other day who was delivered to work in somebody elses van!
It turned out he too had been stopped by the filth.:doh
After the usual checks returned an all clear he thought he'd be on his way,fat chance
The bizies said they'd just check over his truck(mitsubishi)
Well it took them over 20 mins, but they got there in the end!
Plod told him his brake compensator was basil (faulty). He'd only passed the MOT a month ago. He was given 10mins driving time to get his truck to the garage, after that he'd be nicked if on the road. The garage confirmed that all was well with it but 'cause those bully boys in blue had sent him there he'd have to redo the MOT. So another £59 later and a new ticket he had to take the mot to the old bill for them to see it too. Only then would the police tax force allow him back on the road.
So the next time you see a ruddy cop car on the side of road turn off asap:surrender

i can see the plod getting a worse name over all of this......

i doubt its the regular coppers that are doing it all you know the ones who are supposed to serve and protect etc

the traffic scum seem to be like the ss from the nazi party or something but the regular coppers will be tar'd with the same brush and loose even more respect within the comunity

i doubt its just me or you that feels this way its more likelly to have sunk into the brains of the regular plod too, and i should immagine they are walking there beets a lot quicker now

years ago in my skinhead years and the strikes etc things were diferent more violance and fighting the system and later with the poll tax riots
i know coppers now, that beleive things will come around again and they are worried about it... they know the system is not working like this , they know they are in the front line of social problems

while the traffic police with vossa tax collectors can upset the public and sit safely in numbers in there cars

leaving the poor bobby walking the streets, policing football matches, weekends in city centres....etc

like i said thatcher did it ...... you take enough away from enough people. all of a sudden you have a lot of angry people with f u c k all to loose
