I'm 60 miles from Limerick to the south east but I work in Limerick City so up there most days of the week. No too far from the Dell plant in Limerick but over on the Tipperary Road side. Wouldn't be too familiar with Kilmallock side though.

Kilmallock is kind of east isn't it? Lets just say its a bit, well, rural LOL. G/f's family had farms and one of them was into the donkeys big time, so i got dragged to Tralee and all sorts.....never bet on a horse again after what I saw LOL!!

Think it is more on the east side of Limerick. Probably not as rural as it was. Every small town and village here has had the obligatory housing estate or three plonked into it over the past few years. Were they donkey races?

Generally avoid the place at the weekend. See enough of it during the week--unless there's a good donkey race meet on of course I might be enticed to tavel. I'm not far from the Dublin Road roundabout at the Parkway though when there. If your'e down the Clonmel or Dungarvan end of the country at the weekends sometime let me know as that's my home turf.

Ah yes! But the donkey races were a good laugh though. Don't see them much any more for some reason. Maybe not as many donkeys as there used to be.

Oh don't start me on donkeys!!! I have a beef about a lot of charities - Guide Dogs For The Blind for example which has enough cash in the bank currently to buy every blind person a guide dog for the next 100 years, or whatever that donkey charity is in the UK.....apparently there are more than 13,000 donkeys in need of help. Exactly where are they all coming from may I ask???? A few dozen on the beaches and thats about it - I reckon the rest are bred so that wastrels can set up charities to look after them!!!

Interesting theory. 13,000 of them? I thought they were being stolen because they were getting so few. Maybe they are all after emigrating from Ireland to the UK. Think we could start up a charity for 4x4's in need of help and raise a bit of cash?:naughty
